Enlighten & Empower

I am excited to be visiting Nepal for the first time, to run the Temple to Temple (Stupa to Stupa) race this weekend, and to meet Mira Rai to find out more about her Exchange And Empower programme, which aims to provide talented young female runners in Nepal the opportunity to broaden their horizons, experience different lifestyles, and share their stories and culture with others <3

Here is an illustration I did to celebrate the race, featuring Mira and the two temples, from Swayambhu Stupa to Boudhanath Stupa.

Here is a flyer I designed to be distributed at the recent Women in Adventure Film Tour, which I MC'd. Basically, 2018 is all about promoting incredible female athletes :D

Monica Vinader

I was invited to draw the invitation, and the fashion portraits of their VIP fashion guests for the SS18 launch of Monica Vinader collection pieces. I worked in peach watercolour and gold ink to complement the jewellery's blend of strong, clean lines and flowing curves.

Many thanks to Emperor Watch & Jewellery for having me as their live fashion illustrator at their recent Chopard event in their Heritage 1881 boutique.

I prepared 3 templates for the guests to choose from, each featuring a showpiece watch from the new collection.

Blooming Afternoon Tea at Palm Court

Bringing a breath of floral flair this spring, the Palm Court lobby lounge introduces a colourful textured experience with the Blooming Afternoon Tea.

Executive Pastry Chef Matthieu Godard and his culinary team have designed a selection of five exquisite pastries decorated as a bouquet of blossoms that are aesthetically pleasing, and sweet to the palate. Adding an artistic point of view to the afternoon tea experience, talented British illustrator Tanya Bennett will be designing guest’s portraits to take home.

Tanya Bennett, better known as Tanya aka Pirate, is a Hong Kong based creative talent. The hand drawing of watercolour portraits in a fashion sense has become Tanya’s trademark that makes her stand out from the rest.

Tanya works with a wide range of clients in the luxury, fashion, and lifestyle industries around the globe, including prestigious brands like Christian Louboutin, Cartier, and Lane Crawford.

She studied Clothing Design and Manufacturing and specialised in illustration and fashion advertising. After graduation, she moved from United Kingdom to China and started her career in the field of product development and design, as well as freelance illustration projects.

Cali Triptych

I spend a fair amount of time in Los Angeles, Venice in particular, and I'm hugely fond of this part of the world. On my recent trip I discovered some unprimed wooden panels at the local art store and decided to try working on something a little different whilst I was here.

I took influence from the beach palettes of my daily runs along Venice Boardwalk:

Venice Boardwalk, Los Angeles

Produced in the afternoon sunshine, powered by green juice and avocado on toast, I produced a triptych study of hands and hair - something I am currently obsessed with drawing.

Pencil, charcoal, and acrylic on unprimed wood panel. 8 x 10"

Let me know what you think :)

Jenn Shelton

Total privilege to be asked by Jenn Shelton, an American ultramarathoner who has set course records in several of the most demanding American ultramarathons and has run the fastest 100 miles ever recorded by a woman on dirt, to paint her portrait for her new website.

Massive girl crush and runspiration. Swoon.
